Ghost yacht found drifting

4:00 AM Monday Mar 29, 2010

A New Zealand yacht missing for 16 days has been found drifting off the Chatham Islands with its damaged sails still up.

But there was no sign of life on solo sailor Paul Janse van Rensburg's 11m steel craft Tafadzwa.

Last night, a fishing vessel pulled alongside, but the 3m swell made conditions too rough for the crew to try to board the ghost yacht.

An attempt was to be made this morning

I think this is very sad because the person on the boat could have fallen off or died and is sad for all his family and friends.

glasgow- centre of arts scene

Don't count on the freebie tourist maps if you want to find out why Glasgow has become an internationally renowned art hotspot. Many of the streets and hideaways that hold the city's cutting-edge showcases aren't even marked. That could be some kind of modern art conundrum, or just an example of Glasgow's famous sense of humour.

hahahahahahahahaha

5-Year old Sex offender

A 5-year-old and two 6-year-old boys were apprehended by police for sexual assault last year.
They were among 716 children aged under nine who were reprimanded in the 2008/09 financial year for offences from unlawfully taking a bicycle and possession of cannabis to threatening to kill and assault with a weapon.
The youngest children apprehended in 2008/09 included a 4-year-old girl, two 5-year-old girls and five 5-year-old boys.
They were reprimanded for dishonesty offences such as shoplifting, burglary or theft of property valued under $500.

I think this is a problem (SERIOUS) problem because these kids are destined for Crimanal behaviour later in life.

But as it says "children who committed crimes generally modelled their behaviour on that of their parents"  So this is what needs to be stopped.

Man jailed over gecko theft

A man who admitted trying to smuggle 16 protected jewelled geckos out of New Zealand was today sentenced to 15 weeks imprisonment.
Manfred Walter Bachmann, a German resident of Kampala, Uganda, will be immediately deported upon his release from prison.

Judge Farish said that given the value of the geckos - worth up to $200,000 in Europe - perhaps the penalty needed to be increased to deter this type of crime.

"I do need to make it abundantly clear to you that commercial trafficking of protected species is dealt with in a serious way in New Zealand."

I think that the value of the geckos is so much that it is almost better than selling drugs in europe and you dont get as harsh charges.

i also think that the gecko can be exhausted because they are a rare endangered creature and people are taking them and selling them elsewhere and because the penalty isnt that bad its not as dangerous.

This is a problem for new zealand and and should be considered as a new law that endangered, indeginous animals being taken from NZ Should have a very tough penalty.
